Dhillon Law Group Client Settles Title Vii Case Against Columbia University

(New York, NY) – Dhillon Law Group today announced a landmark resolution of a Title VII case filed with the EEOC on behalf of a Columbia University professor. As part of a broader $221 million settlement with the Trump administration, Columbia has agreed to establish a $21 million fund to compensate employees impacted by antisemitic discrimination.

Matt Sarelson, a Palm Beach-based partner at Dhillon Law Group spearheaded the representation of one of four Columbia faculty members who filed EEOC complaints following a surge in antisemitic incidents on campus. This settlement follows a significant federal investigation into Columbia’s discriminatory practices, which previously resulted in the university losing nearly $400 million in federal grant funding.

“This outcome sends a powerful message that antisemitism will not be tolerated in educational institutions or workplaces,” said Sarelson. “Our client’s courage in coming forward has helped achieve accountability and justice for all victims.”

As part of the agreement, Columbia also pledged to end controversial DEI policies, commit to merit-based admissions, and ensure protection of civil liberties on campus.

Dhillon Law Group invites other faculty, students, and employees who have experienced antisemitism at Columbia to confidentially discuss their eligibility for compensation. Those affected should contact attorney Matt Sarelson directly at [email protected]
