Litigation Paralegal

Dhillon Law Group Inc. (DLG) is a civil litigation law firm with offices across the country. DLG is seeking an experienced CA litigation paralegal to join our team. Our practice includes employment litigation, First Amendment litigation, civil rights, business litigation, trade secret litigation, and related practice areas.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in handling both state and federal civil cases, and knowledge of civil pre-trial, trial, and post-trial procedures, including procedural statutes, standing orders, and rules of court (e.g., Civil Code, Code of Civil Procedure, California Rules of Court, Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, and Federal Rules of Appellate Procedure).

The candidate must be responsible, motivated, diligent, proactive, well-organized, detail-oriented, and tech-savvy. The position requires strong proofreading and document preparation capabilities. Applicant must possess strong oral and written communication skills. This is a fast-paced position in a growing AV-rated boutique firm. A successful candidate will have experience working autonomously and within a team setting, and will be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

This is an in-person position for our San Francisco office. Remote work will not be considered during the first year of employment.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to

  • Communicating with clients, vendors, opposing counsel and court staff
  • Calendaring appointments and deadlines
  • Drafting, editing, and proof-reading legal briefs, pleadings, discovery, and correspondence
  • Performing general clerical and administrative duties, including time entry and handling legal mail
  • Familiar with the CCP, CRC, local rules, standing orders, FRCP, and FRAP

A qualified candidate must meet the following minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or a paralegal certificate
  • Must have a minimum of 4 years of experience in civil litigation in a law firm setting
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat Pro
  • Must be well organized and detail-oriented
  • Must be proactive and motivated, and able to work independently and within a team setting
  • Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and various deadlines
  • Able to prioritize tasks based on state and federal court deadlines
  • Must be able to multi-task and adapt to changing situations, priorities, and deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate with individuals of all levels within the firm in a courteous and professional manner
  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to work concurrently on a variety of matters and manage time and expectations

Litigation Paralegal

The ideal candidate will have experience assisting attorneys in all stages of litigation matters. The candidate should feel comfortable conducting research, doing data entry, scheduling, maintaining case online files, and completing other ad-hoc requests, as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Light general office support in three-lawyer Newark branch of our San Francisco based firm

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • 2+ years’ as Litigation Legal Assistant or Paralegal
  • Ability to work occasional overtime
  • Strong computer skills
  • Familiarity with case filing requirements for NJ, NY and Federal courts

Executive Assistant

Part-time personal assistant needed to support senior executive. Most of the work can be performed remotely, with occasional onsite assistance in San Francisco ideal. Office is in Union Square, San Francisco near BART.

Ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, able to balance and prioritize multiple tasks, flexible, have excellent judgment, and be able to take initiative.

Compensation on an hourly basis to start, depending upon experience, and subject to W2 withholding.

Estimate 10 hours a week to start, though role could expand based upon need.
