Gary Lawkowski is a creative, solutions-oriented attorney who focuses on political law, election law, administrative law, appellate work, and nonprofit issues.

President Reagan said “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction.” Gary brings over a decade of legal and policy experience, working to make sure the freedoms we hold most dear are passed on to the next generation.

During the Trump Administration, he worked directly advising the Secretary of the Interior and other senior Department leaders on complex and sensitive policy matters, including drafting agency-wide orders and legal opinions. He also served as a Senior Policy Advisor to the White House Domestic Policy Council, where he drafted an executive order, led several staff-level interagency policy processes, and reviewed environmental, land management, and animal welfare regulations.After leaving the Administration, he completed a second tour at the Federal Election Commission, directly advising Commissioner Sean Cooksey on legal and policy issues. Gary has also worked as an in-house counsel to a national nonprofit organization.Gary was born and raised in Virginia, and attended the University of Virginia for both undergrad and law school. In his spare time, he enjoys playing and watching hockey, running, hiking with his dog, and raiding used book sales for as many politics and history books as he can carry.
