Jesse Franklin-Murdock – Associate

Jesse Franklin-Murdock joined Dhillon Law Group as an associate attorney in 2021 after clerking for U.S. District Judge Jill A. Otake in Honolulu.  Jesse’s practice includes employment law, commercial litigation, and politics and election law.  Jesse is licensed to practice law in California and Hawaii.

Jesse began his legal career at Kobayashi Sugita & Goda, LLP (KSG), one of Hawaii’s preeminent litigation firms.  At KSG, Jesse worked on a wide range of litigation matters, representing large corporations, closely-held businesses, government officials, and individuals in state and federal court and arbitral proceedings.  Jesse then operated his own law practice.  In six months, Jesse won a complete defense judgment at a bench trial, obtained a child support award for a mother before a state agency, negotiated favorable settlements for a commercial tenant and the founders of a technology start-up, and achieved a successful resolution of a dispute for his clients after commencing an AAA consumer arbitration to void a contract.

Jesse received his law degree summa cum laude from the William S. Richardson School of Law at the University of Hawaii.  Jesse was an Outside Articles Editor for the University of Hawaii Law Review and received CALI Excellence for the Future Awards for receiving the highest grades in Legal Practice I (legal writing), Real Property I, Real Property II, Business Associations, and State and Local Government and Finance.  Jesse completed externships with two federal judges: (now) Senior Circuit Judge Richard R. Clifton and Chief U.S. District Judge J. Michael Seabright.

Jesse is a member of the Federalist Society.  Jesse also has a limited working proficiency in the Italian language and is passionate about Italian culture and cuisine.
