DLG Files Lawsuit Against University of Southern California on Behalf of Former Football Coach Rick Courtright

On July 1, 2019, Dhillon Law Group filed a lawsuit against the University of Southern California on behalf of Rick Courtright, a former football coach at the University of Southern California and the Arizona Cardinals, for retaliation surrounding his reporting of academic fraud and safety violations. In the complaint, Mr. Courtright alleges, among other violations, that he overheard two graduate assistants students discuss receiving sums of money from defensive coordinator Clancy Pendergast to pay undergraduate students to take their online graduate classes for them. He also alleged safety violations that resulted in student athletes being injured during practice. The lawsuit alleges that Mr. Courtright was harassed, retaliated against, and ultimately forced out of his job, as well as denied a promised promotion, as a result of his complaints about these violations.

Parsa Nozzari graduated from the University of California, Davis, where he obtained Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and French. Shortly after graduating in 2015, he moved to San Francisco to work as a paralegal at Dhillon Law Group. He provided various levels of litigation support to the firm’s attorneys until August 2018, when he left the firm to start law school.
