After the thrashing California Republicans took at the polls in November, we have our work cut out for us. We should start by being honest with ourselves.
After every election, the pundits declare the losing side at risk of being irrelevant. After 1994, 2004 and 2010, Democrats were said to be on their way to permanent minority status. Republicans are said by some to be on that same path today.
